WHO warns of falsified Darzalex injections
WHO issued an alert concerning falsified batches of Darzalex—daratumumab—identified in
Mexico and the Maldives. The products had been supplied through unauthorized channels,
reinforcing the importance of licensed sourcing and batch verification.

EMA committee recommends 12 medicines for approval
The European Medicines Agency’s CHMP recommended 12 new medicines, including therapies
for high cholesterol and mixed dyslipidaemia. The July recommendations comprised nine non-
orphan medicines, two orphan medicines and one biosimilar.

WHO launches framework for greener pharmaceuticals
WHO introduced its first global framework to help regulators reduce the environmental impact
of medicines. The recommendations cover product development, manufacturing, procurement,
use and disposal while maintaining quality, safety and equitable access.

FDA clears once-daily oral GLP-1 medicine
The FDA approved Foundayo—orforglipron—for long-term weight management in eligible
adults. The oral GLP-1 medicine provides a tablet-based alternative to injectable therapies and
was the first new molecular entity approved through the FDA’s priority voucher pilot.

Armenia approves its 2026–2030 tuberculosis strategy
